Current Project
June 2004 - Monkey Steak have recently returned
from a sun-soaked week in the Spanish valley, La Sierra de Gredos. There, they were collecting source sounds for a soundscape/musical
composition for Lucia Diaz-Munoz's as yet untitled anthropological film. The film concerns the day to day life of locals Nisio
and Fidela and their small holding in the valley. It examines their relationship with their home environment and with the holiday-making visitors
they receive from the nearby villages and cities. More info to follow!
Monkey Steak will continue their exploration of 'found sounds' in the
soundtrack - goat bells, insects, innumerable birds, and the river to name but a few! We'll post up the 'highlights'
of the score on this page as and when we finish them...
